Budget 2008

Alistair Darling's first Budget has finally arrived after months of build up. Its size, including no fewer than 107 technical Budget Notes (26 more than last year) is flattering to its fresh content, as much of the material was confirmation either of changes that were announced by Gordon Brown last year or of proposals that Alistair Darling has come up with since last October (most of which have required significant amendment)
